Accelerating the green fuel revolution through corrosion smart manufacturing.
LowCoBio aims to accelerate the commercialisation of renewable green fuels from bio-oil by addressing two key challenges: improving production processes and solving corrosion problems.
The project focuses on pyrolysis-based processes using sustainable biomass such as forest residues. By finding ways to reduce corrosivity in the production process, the project aims to avoid the use of expensive materials while maintaining product quality and yield. The aim is to enable the use of existing infrastructure for processing bio-oil, leading to significant CO2 reductions by 2030 through economically viable and sustainable processes with a low carbon footprint.
