Expertise, R&D and Consulting
Expertise and R&D in corrosion
Since 2002, the French Corrosion Institute has been supporting industry in understanding, preventing, and controlling corrosion. Our team of PhDs, engineers, and technicians specialized in materials science, metallurgy, chemistry, and electrochemistry leverages some of the most comprehensive testing and analysis capabilities in Europe to address the challenges of durability, reliability, and regulatory compliance for your equipment and products.
Anti-corrosion coatings
To be completed
Cathodic protection
A cornerstone of corrosion control, this department offers complete expertise: from the design of installations to on-site audits and through to modelling. We develop innovative monitoring sensors and operate test benches to optimise the effectiveness of impressed-current or sacrificial anode protection, while also providing certified training for your teams.
Corrosion sensors and monitoring
Continuous monitoring of corrosion and environmental parameters makes it possible to assess material durability, detect degradation risks at an early stage, and optimize preventive maintenance programs. The French Corrosion Institute develops, deploys, and commercializes custom sensor solutions, deployable across a wide range of environments: industrial, atmospheric, submerged, buried, or under irradiation.
Stress corrosion cracking
To be completed
Hydrogen embrittlement
Characterization, qualification, and consulting on the resistance of metallic materials to hydrogen embrittlement in aqueous and gaseous environments, across all industrial sectors.
Industrial corrosion diagnosis
In the event of a failure, or to audit your installations, our experts deploy on site for a full diagnosis. Combining field inspections with laboratory investigations (metallography, chemical analysis), we pinpoint the root cause of the damage. We transform these analyses into operational recommendations to halt corrosion, secure your assets and optimise your maintenance plans.
Training
The French Corrosion Institute offers certified training programs in cathodic protection for the marine sector, compliant with the international standard NF EN ISO 15257:2017, as well as a catalog of tailor-made training courses adapted to the specific needs of each industrial sector. All our training sessions are delivered in person in Brest by expert engineers certified at the highest levels of the ISO 15257 standard.
Customized training programs for industry are also available and can be delivered on-site or at the French Corrosion Institute.
