Training in corrosion and cathodic protection
Reduce corrosion-related costs and ensure the safety of your installations
Training in cathodic protection in seawater
Train your teams in best practices for cathodic protection and corrosion management, with recognized certified training programs (ISO 15257) tailored to your operational challenges.
Our cathodic protection training courses are intended for a wide range of professionals in the industrial and maritime sectors. Each session brings together diverse profiles such as engineers, technicians, maintenance managers, project managers, corrosion specialists, and divers, fostering knowledge sharing and collaborative learning. Whether you are a field operator or an expert in corrosion management, our certification pathways are adapted to your level and professional needs. This diversity of participants ensures a practical approach, enriched by feedback from sectors such as offshore, subsea infrastructure, and heavy industry, enabling skills development that can be directly applied in the field.
The French Corrosion Institute provides a certified training program, “Cathodic Protection – Marine Sector”, levels 1, 2, and 3, in compliance with the EN ISO 15257:2017 standard. Registration for the examination is carried out through the CFPC, via the Cefracor website.

Tailored-made training
Beyond certified training programs, the French Corrosion Institute designs and delivers tailor-made training courses adapted to the specific needs of each industrial sector and each company. These courses can be organized in-house (on your site or in Brest) or as inter-company sessions, with content and duration defined in close collaboration with your teams. They are built on the scientific and technical expertise of our engineers, as well as on our unique testing infrastructure.
Examples of available trainings
Corrosion of aerospace alloys
This training is intended for engineers, technicians, and maintenance managers in the aerospace sector. It covers corrosion mechanisms specific to aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, and high-strength steels used in aerospace structures, protective coatings, corrosion fatigue, as well as inspection and prevention methods.
Corrosion of automotive materials
Training intended for R&D, quality, and production teams in the automotive sector. It covers atmospheric and galvanic corrosion mechanisms, accelerated corrosion testing (salt spray, cyclic tests according to automotive standards), protection systems (coatings, pre-painted steels, surface treatments), and failure analysis methods.
Corrosion of stainless steels in aqueous media
Specialized training on the behavior of stainless steels in aggressive aqueous environments (chloride-containing, acidic, high-temperature conditions). It covers pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, as well as the selection and qualification of grades suited to various industrial applications.
Marine corrosion
In-depth training on the degradation mechanisms of materials and structures in marine environments: seawater, tidal zones, splash zones, and marine atmospheres. It covers protection solutions (coatings, cathodic protection, corrosion-resistant materials), corrosion monitoring, and inspection methods for offshore and coastal structures.
