Low-carbon energy
Committed to the heart of the energy transition, the French Corrosion Institute secures the development of your technologies: Hydrogen, Ammonia, CCUS and Nuclear. Our unique test facilities reproduce critical environments (high-pressure H₂, liquid NH₃, supercritical CO₂) to qualify the performance of your materials. We support you across the full value chain to manage degradation risks and guarantee the longevity of your future infrastructure.
Transport sector
As a key partner for the automotive, aerospace and maritime industries, we develop innovative solutions to predict and prevent corrosion. Thanks to test facilities unique in Europe, including a 12 m³ walk-in chamber for testing full-scale parts, we perform your qualifications against the most demanding OEM standards. From R&D to corrosion fatigue testing and on-site exposure, we guarantee the durability and safety of your assemblies.
Oil and gas industry
As a long-standing partner of the sector, the French Corrosion Institute supports you in meeting the challenges of extreme environments (HP/HT, acidic or toxic media). Thanks to state-of-the-art equipment that faithfully reproduces field conditions, we qualify the durability of your materials. Our technical expertise and bespoke testing optimise your protection solutions, whether through direct consultancy or joint industry projects (JIPs).
Chemical and process industry
Faced with durability challenges and the emergence of new processes, we secure your chemical plants through a comprehensive approach. From theoretical risk analysis to on-site diagnosis and monitoring, and through laboratory expertise, we guide you in selecting materials suited to your operating constraints. Offshore infrastructure
As a European leader, we support your offshore projects with unique testing capabilities: two stations supplied with natural seawater for tests from laboratory to full scale. From cathodic protection to coatings, through corrosion fatigue and hyperbaric conditions (300 bar), we validate the durability of your structures. Our offering also includes consultancy, instrumented monitoring and certified training to safeguard your offshore assets.
Onshore infrastructure
To ensure the longevity of your buried infrastructure, we deploy cutting-edge expertise in cathodic protection and coating performance. From soil characterisation to finite element modelling, we analyse complex phenomena (stray currents, disbondment). Our testing capabilities in natural or synthetic soils, combined with real-time monitoring solutions, enable you to manage corrosion risks and optimise your maintenance strategies.
Water industry
A key player in water management, we work across the entire cycle: abstraction, treatment, distribution and sanitation. Our experts analyse specific risks such as microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) and validate material compatibility in contact with drinking water or aggressive effluents. Through our field diagnoses and laboratory testing, we help you secure water quality and extend the life of your hydraulic networks as they age.
Buildings
A partner of the building industry, we work towards the durability of your prepainted products and facades. Thanks to a unique worldwide network of natural exposure sites (rated C2 to C5M) and state-of-the-art accelerated testing facilities (including a 12 m³ chamber), we qualify your materials against climate challenges. Health – Medical implants
In the medical sector, material integrity is vital to patient safety. We assess the corrosion resistance of your implants and surgical instruments in simulated physiological environments. From the study of fretting-corrosion to the validation of cleaning and sterilisation cycles, we support medical device manufacturers in guaranteeing biocompatibility, durability and compliance with strict regulatory requirements.
